Srinagar, Mar 18 (KNO): Continuing its drive against drug abuse, Police on Tuesday said to have arrested three drug consumers from Awantipora area.
During patrolling, a Police party of Police Station Awantipora, apprehended three drug consumers who were found in suspicious circumstances in a Eco Sports vehicle bearing registration number JK01BA-3092, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
They have been identified as Hilal Ahmad Ahanger son of Ab Satar Ahanger resident of Badipora Budgam, Nasir Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Ashraf Mir resident of Badipora Budgam and Aftab Ahmad Magray son of Mushtaq Ahmad Magray resident of Sugam Budgam.
During questioning, police said that they admitted that they are regular drug consumers and accordingly they were shifted to drug de-addiction/rehabilitation Centre Tral where the test of all the persons was conducted and the report reveals positive.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR Numbers 46/2025 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora.
“J&K Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and ensuring a safe and drug-free society. Public cooperation is essential in this fight and we urge citizens to report any suspicious activities related to narcotics to the nearest police station,” the statement reads—(KNO)
